Mark is another Councillor born and bred in Mount Isa and comes from a family with strong community involvement.

Mark Van Ryt

Mark completed an Electrical trade before travelling overseas; he returned and studied Humanities at Adelaide University, and gained a Graduate Diploma of Education through Queensland University.

He is passionate about the environment; and has taken on the Re-cycling and Sanitation portfolio with Council and has been responsible for many improvements in Council's treatment methods. Mark is part of the team at Southern Gulf Catchments here in the City.
