Gary Asmus is the third team member born in Mount Isa and has been on Council for 5 years. He works underground for Mount Isa Mines, a company he has been with now for 18 years.

An achiever focussed on targets set, Gary is very much a 'hands-on' man who throws himself into committee and community work. Known as the original 'Face of Mount Isa' for our tourism industry, Gary has enthusiastically worked for Tourism in Mount Isa and promoted the City's image and operators for years before becoming a Councillor.

A proven asset, Gary has been responsible for Tourism, Major and Community Events in his position, is a Director on the board at Outback at Isa, as well as being the Chair for Mount Isa Senior's Safety.
